Why SAORA exists
Point of sale is unforgiving software. It has to be as fast as a queue is impatient, as reliable as a patchy connection is not, and as accurate as a VAT inspector expects. Most systems pick one. We built SAORA to deliver all three, with the kind of back office that used to need a head-office IT department.
Today SAORA runs counters, kitchens and back offices as one omnichannel platform: an offline-first POS at the counter, live figures at app.saora.ie, and card payments wired straight through.
Where we are
We build for merchants across Europe. The product is designed, developed and supported from Ireland, and every decision about it is made close enough to a real counter to hear the receipt printer.

A POS is judged in the middle of the lunch rush, not in a demo. Speed, big touch targets and working offline are not features to us; they are the starting point.
The POS, the back office and payments are one product with its price printed on the website. No sales calls just to learn a number.
VAT handling, cash rounding, deposit return schemes and postcode lookup are built into the core and localised properly for each market we serve, starting with Ireland.
Every new business is reviewed and set up by a person. When you call about a printer at six on a Friday, that matters more than any feature list.
